Traditional Karate training is a fun way for children to develop confidence, health and fitness as well as mental focus. Training develops excellent self-discipline and socialization skills. One unique aspect of the kids classes at the Vancouver Dojo is that parents are welcome and encouraged to train alongside their children. (For ages 7 and up, any child below the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while training)
Tai Chi Chuan
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese martial art that focuses on the harmonization of ones mind, body, and spirit. Deep abdominal breathing is combined with a series of movements that are structured continuously. As a form of self-defense Tai Chi allows anyone of any size a chance to realistically defend themselves.
Shorinji Ryu Karate Do is the traditional martial art developed on the islands of Okinawa south of mainland Japan. Traditional Karate training improves the health and vitality of body, mind, and spirit. This is done while teaching effective and empowering self defense techniques in a safe and interesting way.
